If there has ever a test for the strength of family, it
surely is the wedding process.
What our lenses bore witness to at Michael & Crissy’s was nothing
shy of remarkable. In a unique approach for us to blogging the photos, we are
solely presenting the lead-up to
the wedding to explain how family played such a pivotal role. We hope you enjoy
Even through the darkest of thunderstorms, Crissy held her
resolve. Weathering her ups and down of the morning she made the most of the
rain delay by taking time to select a card and writing a personal message to her future husband.
In her future parent’s master bedroom the gown and bouquet
sat waiting quietly. The heavy raindrops battering the window stained hope on the garden ceremony.
Keeping a watchful eye on the patchy western skies, Michael’s brother
& best man lead the processional of helping hands itching to transform the
backyard into a wedding venue.
The father of the bride was called upon in the 11th
hour to make a garden arch for the ceremony. Having only 24 hours, a few hand
tools and a lot of ingenuity he pulled off the last minute heroic effort to
make his daughter’s day that much more special. The looming question still remained… would the wedding be in the garden?
Hands. If you want to know how someone is feeling, the they are a dead giveaway. Nervousness, excitement, happiness, tension… are just a
few of the emotions that every bride-to-be goes through in the final few hours, minutes and seconds before
the walk down the aisle.
Mother nature finally yielded to the collective hopes of MIchael & Crissy's families. She presented them with an early wedding present, wrapped in blue skies. This celestial shift would be
an precursor to an beautiful ceremony & day to follow.
With, hope, persistence and a little luck the newlyweds got not only a day to remember, but also a true look into the power of family. With the hard work long behind them and the sunny skies ahead the party took flight (into the pool for some!)
