Meera & Chad’s Trash the Lengha Shoot

On every shoot we like to push our limits…not everyone is up for our adventurous ideas but more often than not we work with couples whose adventure levels match ours. Such was the case with Chad & Meera- not only are they a a beautiful couple and super fun to hang out with, but they are always up for having some fun. So when we proposed the idea of a water shoot, Meera was a bit hesitant, but with a few winks and a wiggle of our noses she was convinced…I mean she agreed to get wet and cold and dirty for her photos- just our kind of bride!

Chad & Meera, thanks so much for trudging the dirty alley ways of Toronto with us and landing into the water with such grace and elegance!

you guys really love water, eh?! It really does add a different element to a bridal shoot, and all the power to your subjects (aka brides) for jumping in!

Well I for one am happy for you to go on pushing those limits and continuing to pursue these adventurous ideas. These photos are just excellent – I hope they will help sell the Trash the Dress concept to other couples.

If there’s anything I’d change about this shoot, it would have been to have Chad in his white Indian suit too, and with Meera with her hair up and wearing her dupatta. But that’s just my personal artistic preference.

I really like the Trash the Dress concept. I have just grown bored of the constant repetition of seeing brides only in white wedding gowns, when it could work so well with an Indian lengha, a Sri Lankan saree or a Malaysian kurta.

Keep up the good work, and here’s for seeing more like this in the future!

Hats off to the bride for jumping into water! I know my heart sunk when I first got my bridal lenghat wet =)
